We have arrived!

We arrived safely today at about 3pm after a short detour in craven arms after the coach driver misplaced himself... Our luggage was unloaded and we had a quick tour of the site and a practice fire drill. We then had a little time in our rooms to unpack and most of the children took the opportunity to experience vending machines for what seemed like the first time! After some heavy persuasion and the use of the phrase 'what would your mum and dad say to you now" to the children with armfuls of chocolate and crisps 15 minutes before dinnertime, they conceeded that you would probably disapprove, so their treats were packed away and we went off to dinner.

After dinner we had a bit more dorm time where some unpacking took place and we arranged an emergency meeting with all of the children based around the dangers of consuming 6 chocolate bars, 2 packets of crisps and a can of fizzy pop 10 minutes after having their evening meal... After the initial excitement of the vending machine frenzy, everyone seems to have realised that perhaps 'less is more' and at the time of writing, not one child has yet to see their vending machine bounty again....

Our evening activity was a 3 mile walk in the countryside, in the dark- across fields and through woods! It was enjoyed by most- particularly those who had listened to the advice of wearing lots of layers... Those who didn't learnt a valuable lesson! It is currently snowing quite heavily here but everyone is now fast asleep in their ensuite rooms. The instructors are having to be flexible with the programme due to the extreme weather conditions but the majority of the activities planned for tomorrow should go ahead.

More updates and hopefully some photos tomorrow!

Love from the children and teachers at Manor Adventure... Xx
